Talent Kapadza is a young Zimbabwean visual artist focusing on painting and graphic design. In 2008, he enrolled at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe visual art studios in Harare. His inspiration is drawn from African contemporary life – the people, the landscapes and the cityscapes. He generally works with mixed-media – acrylics, oils and clear vinyl on mirror. Exploring texture as a means of expression is his passion.
His more recent experimentation with semi-abstract ideas using drip and splash techniques is an exploration into the effect of Wi-Fi and airwaves in our daily lives. Frequencies that are symbolic of man’s search for belonging.
Currently, Talent is a resident artist at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. Since 2009, Talent’s work has been featured in exhibitions, both locally and internationally.
“The world we live in today is the result of our collective consciousness.”
